Blogger Customisation Guide

My earlier posts are about starting a blog on two different platforms. Once you start a blog, you just need to focus on quality posts. But before you start publishing blog posts, you need to customise your blogs look n feel and etc.. Here we discuss it.

I already posted guides to starting a blog on Blogger and WordPress separately. Here we discussing customisation on Blogger.com platform. If you want WordPress customisation, Read here.

Templates

One of the major drawbacks of Blogger.com is, it is less customizable. There are only a few templates available on the blogger platform. But, you can find hundreds of third party Blogger.com templates on the Internet. Here we list some of the Blogger.com templates providers.
Browse these template providers and download one you desired to your blog.

Template Installation

After download, you need to install the downloaded template on your blog.

First, Unzip the downloaded file. then find a template.xml file ( sometimes name should be templates name )

Then, login to Blogger.com and get into Templates menu of your blog. at the top right corner you can see Backup/Restore. click on it and Upload the extracted template.xml file. You are done.

If you face any issue, do this alternative method.
Head to extracted folder, find template.xml and open with text editor. copy the full code from there. login to Blogger.com, goto Theme. select Edit HTML and clear all code and paste copied code.

For advanced template customisation check theme documentation. you can find it from where you downloaded the template. Documentation changes for each templates, because features are differ for each.

Template Customisation

You can customize your template by clicking Customize in Theme option. you can change colors, fonts and more.

Adding Widgets

You can add widgets and gadgets from Layout option. there you can use pre build gadgets and custom html gadgets. you can add adsense ads from there if you integrated with Adsense account

After these setups, you are almost done blogger customisation. We'll come back with another blogger guide. Comment below your doubts and suggestions.
